If you have kids, Netflix could pay for itself many times over in a year. And not because you can plunk your offspring down in front of that cartoon they never seem to get bored with. No, the streaming video service could pay for itself in real money saved.

Frontline: Inside the Meltdown – Watch It Streaming Online

Everyone should watch the episode of Frontline: Inside the Meltdown that aired Feb 17, 2009.  It gives a great chronological of what lead up to our current economic crisis.  What really gets me, is how there were certain people (think Ron Paul) saying that this event would happen back in 2007 or earlier, yet they  are and were ridiculed for sounding the warnings about an imminent disaster.  Hindsight may be 20/20 as the old saying goes, but it does not make any difference if you don’t learn from the experience.

We will continue to see the same problems over the next few years, only worse.  As I write this, the DOW sits at 7495(!!!) and people continue to lose their jobs, homes, and savings.  Yesterday our new President Obama has signed into law another bailout bill, and by the market’s reactions, it is probably not going to help.  Many of the same people who’ve gotten us into this mess in the first place are still in positions of power in both government and private industry.  The fools in the US Government continue to give $BILLIONS$ (In reality it’s now in the $$TRILLIONS$$) to their old pals in the private sector that caused this mess through greed and corruption. Now millions of American tax payers for generations to come will suffer the consequences, while these greedy bastards continue to live the good life.

There are many people who feel they have the solution to our problems.  Truth is, nobody knows what the best fix will be, but I can tell you printing money and giving it away to the same people who fucked us in the first place, is not the solution.  Harder times are on the horizon.

Please enjoy the episode of PBS’ Frontline: Inside the Meltdown.  Encourage others to see and understand how this mess has happened, and continue to educate those close to you.

Today the Supreme Court of the United States of America issued a judgment that says the Second Amendment is indeed an individual right. I know the 2nd amendment is a hot-button topic for many and widely debated, but today the Supreme Court has smacked down the argument that the 2nd Amendment is not an individual right to own a gun. For the first time since the 2nd Amendment was ratified in 1791 the courts have acknowledged that it is indeed an individual right. Let this be a lesson to everyone: The Bill of Rights are INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS. Here are some videos from various media outlets about today’s court decision:

The following videos should serve as an introduction to "Web 2.0" theories and practices. Web 2.0 has many different definitions, and I don’t want to get into that debate. However I use it as a generic term when referring to "new" web technologies that are social/publisher driven or highly interactive. Web 2.0 also can include social networks, collaboration, and even the global economy. These videos will help explain what the theories behind web 2.0 are from many different viewpoints. I would highly suggest sending this article to anybody you’ve been trying to explain Web 2.0 to.

I’ve found that trying to get people interested in learning more about how to use technology is like pulling teeth. If you show them some web application or widget they say "hey thats cool" but do not really understand what they are seeing. The promise of Web 2.0 principals and the often forgotten fact is that this revolution is all about YOU. YOU create the data, YOU share your knowledge, YOU have the power to mix up data from all over the world to view it how you want. And its supposed to be simple. It’s getting simpler everyday. Without further adieu, the videos…
