The car industry is on the verge of its biggest transformation in more than a century, with a fleet of fully self-driving cars coming “sooner than you think,” according to General Motors President Dan Ammann.

ArcAttack Rocks Gizmodo Gallery with Singing Tesla Coils in NYC

Last night I had the opportunity to visit the Gizmodo Gallery in NYC and check out all the cool exhibits. By far the coolest was the Singing Tesla Coils by ArcAttack. The Tesla coils are programmed to emit various tones and pitches to make music, mostly video game music. The Tesla Coils are backed up by a robotic drum kit too. Check out the videos below for an example. If you ever have the chance to see ArcAttack live, I highly suggest you do, you wont regret it.

Sometimes the amount of data we have access to can become overwhelming. I open myself to as much incoming information sources as I possibly can and I often feel overwhelmed at the incoming sensory deluge. The ability to sort and filter all of this information quickly is important. Most people on the internet are still just searching the internet for websites, or worse browsing exclusively inside of closed networks or communities. Some of us are actually “subscribing” to data, allowing it to be sent to us instead of having to seek it out. As we use these new tools and technologies, we tell the computer a little more about what is important, and what we are looking for.
